• A shift of zones is a principle. Since principles are merely basic orientations of a development, their manifestations have many variations.

• You can visualise these zones by thinking of ocean currents. Ocean currents are rivers of hot or cold water within the ocean. An ocean current is any more or less continuous. It is a directed movement of ocean water that flows in one of the Earth's oceans.

• Another manifestation are the large scale motions of the Earth's lithosphere, the slow shift of tectonic plates on the Earth.

• Shifting zones manifest themselves not only visually. They manifest themselves mentally and you can experience them physically. It is possible that you can hear them, taste them or feel them. It is possible that it is noticed by a combination of the senses.

• A shifting zone is a heavy, low noise, base experience which causes vibration. The scale is large, the speed is slow and the power is huge.

• I sense an aesthetic experience.

• The audience turns around the same scene over and over.

• The repeated scene is not the same scene over and over again. The scene travels like a spiral.

• With a sequential output of perspectives, we experience aesthetics on a physical level.

• The Golden Pavilion is a novel by Yukio Mishima published in 1966.

• The Golden Pavilion is a boeddhistic temple.

• The Golden Pavilion is beauty.

• The Golden Pavilion is an eternal mental unit in a surrounding fleeting world.

• Inside the temple there is a scale model of the same temple.

• The Golden Pavilion is like a ship sailing through the sea of time.

• There’s a Phoenix on the roof top. To fly trough time it only had to stand still.

• Physics theory claim that the combined speed through space with the speed through time equals the speed of light. This means that the Phoenix is travelling with the speed of light on the top of the roof. To fly trough time it only had to stand still.

• The Phoenix is standing on one leg, his eyes are focused to infinity. He is looking God straight in the eye.

• What they ask is: take a shift from your own work, or possibly from the works of your colleague friends or from the space you’re in or at least take a different orientation towards something.

• The set is an abstraction.
